T&L Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement

Student Feedback Surveys

Student Feedback on Teaching and Learning (SFTL)

SFTL is one of the key means by which the University gathers feedback from students, for the purpose of assuring and enhancing the quality of its courses and teaching. At the end of each course, students complete the online questionnaires, which cover feedback on the course, its teaching and tutorials. The University’s Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) is charged with the responsibility for developing and operating a centralised system for the administration of the SFTL questionnaires.

Student Learning Experience Questionnaire (SLEQ)

TALIC conducts institutional surveys on the learning experiences of undergraduate and taught postgraduate students, focusing particularly on perceptions of the attainment of the University Educational Aims and programme learning outcomes. The data gathered from these surveys are used to inform curriculum and pedagogy enhancement. Survey findings are analysed and shared with the respective Faculties and programmes through comprehensive reports, as well as discussions with Deans, Associate Deans, programme directors and relevant teaching staff.
